CODE OF ETHICS1.) I will follow the rules of good sportsmanship in all Siberian Husky competition and activities;
2.) I will encourage Siberian Husky owners to participate in conformation shows, obedience and agility trials;
3.) I will give sound advice/s that will be beneficial to the breed when sought by novice exhibitors, breeders and pet owners.
4.) I will fully explain to all prospective Siberian Husky purchasers the disadvantages as well as advantages of owning this breed;
5.) I will refuse to deal with dog wholesalers or to sell puppies or dogs to pet shops, and will include in all stud contracts an agreement to be signed by the owner of the bitch that no puppies resulting from the mating will be disposed of to commercial dog dealers, puppy millers, pet shops or wholesale merchants;
6.) Before entering into any breeding agreement, I will carefully analyze the conformation and the pedigrees of the prospective sire and dam, take into consideration any known hereditary or genetic defects and, having the breed standard in mind, refuse the mating if, in my opinion, it will not be in the best interest of the breed;
7.) I agree that the proper breeding age of the Siberian Husky is at 2 years old, and that both prospective Sire and Dam must be free from all hereditary defects. I will not breed from stock that is affected by Progressive Retinal Atrophy, Cataracts, Pre-disposition to Primary Glaucoma and Hip Dysplasia;
8.) I will accept full responsibility for all puppies bred by me. I will take back, or provide for, any dog of my breeding that needs a new home until I find an alternative suitable home;
9.) All puppies owned and/or bred by me will be permanently identified and registered with the PCCI. I will place puppies not suitable for breeding on Limited Registration. Pet puppies must be sold with a spay/neuter contract;
10.) I will not participate in any activities that would create bad publicity for the breed.
